  • On and off light rain has been falling since yesterday evening
  • Temperatures are also struggling to get much above 9 degrees for much of Vancouver today
  • Steadier rain will begin later this afternoon with the next wave of moisture along a cold front and will continue through to Friday afternoon for a rough 10-20 mm. Winds will also be breezy tonight
  •  Rain will begin to ease tomorrow afternoon with winds switching to a drier northwesterly flow
  • Conditions will gradually improve starting tomorrow afternoon through the weekend. In fact we may even get some sun tomorrow afternoon although showers remain in the forecast for Saturday with a continued onshore flow
  • Temperatures will also climb back up to seasonal 13s for the weekend..and a sunnier Sunday as a ridge builds in off the coast with a nice little warming trend and drier conditions for next week

Winter VS Summer Across Ontario Today
  • That messy Texas Low (same one that brought gusty winds to Waco last night) is pushing into Ontario today - On the cold side of the system, it's bringing a prolonged freezing rain event to the upper Great Lakes and as much as 25 cm north of Lake Superior through today
  • Meanwhile in the warm pocket- Southern Ontario will feel like summer today with temps reaching the mid 20s along with humidity for the first time this season
  • A general 5-15 mm of rain will fall in southern Ontario today but thunderstorms are also tracking across the region  this afternoon (with thunderstorm watches and warnings in place) for higher amounts. When not caught in a t-storm though its a gorgeous summer day

West Texas Weather..Winds Continue & Temps Drop
  • Winds continued to gust close to 60 km/h through the overnight. The wind shift happened around 7:30 am CDT moving around to the NW..but also bringing a round of heavy rain
  • That heavy rain has likely helped contain the ammonia by absorbing the chemical...
  • Winds will continue to gust from the NNW today to around 45 km/h and will remain from this direction until Saturday
  • South-southeastward drift of the fumes and smoke will occur, however, with less humid air moving in and the atmosphere becoming well-mixed, it will be enough to disperse the odor as the afternoon and evening hours
  • Colder air will also settle over the region with temperatures dipping into freezing mark overnight
