Lucy van Oldenbarneveld is co-host of CBC News Ottawa at 5, 5:30 & 6. Lucy's work with CBC has taken her almost literally from one side of the country to the other. Before coming to Ottawa, Lucy was the host/reporter of the afternoon radio show at CBC Whitehorse. Lucy has reported on a number of significant Canadian events, including the 2002 G8 summit in Kananaskis. Lucy is involved with providing journalism training in different parts of Africa - most recently in Abuja, Nigeria.
Adrian is co-host of CBC News Ottawa at 5, 5:30 & 6, and host of CBC Ottawa Late Night, at 11:00. Adrian attended elementary and high school at Ashbury College, and was involved in community radio at CKCU (Carleton University) and CHUO (University of Ottawa). He has been a guest host on national CBC programs such as As it Happens, Sounds Like Canada and The Current. Before coming to television, Adrian was the host of All In A Day on CBC Radio One in Ottawa.
Weekdays, David is a video journalist and reporter for CBC News Ottawa. Weekends, he anchors CBC News Ottawa at 6 P.M. Saturdays, and on Sunday late night. A native of Winnipeg, David began his career as weekend anchor in Brandon, Manitoba before joining CBC in Winnipeg and Edmonton. He was a producer and bureau chief in Iqaluit, and has travelled to every province and territory in Canada.
Ian is the only weather forecaster in Ottawa certified by the Canadian Metrological and Oceanographic Society (in fact, he was the first broadcaster ever certified). He's a hockey dad, and before he became Ottawa's go-to guy for accurate forecasts, he was a substitute teacher in just about every high school in town. A self-described weather geek, he is excited about how technology has caught up to the way he had envisioned weather forecasting 20 years ago.
Teri was born in Montreal, grew up in L'Orignal and moved to Ottawa to attend the University of Ottawa, where she got a B.A. and M.A. She worked in flight training at the Ottawa Airport for 12 years, learning to decipher weather reports and read the winds. She also spent a year on a tall ship, where accurate weather forecasting became a priority. New baby Uly is keeping her busy, but she still finds time to teach at Algonquin College, direct plays and help run The Gladstone Theatre in Ottawa. She has been the on-air back-up to climatologist Ian Black for almost a decade.
Dan has 25 years experience in both private television and the CBC as one of Ottawa's best sports journalists.
From local issues to international cultural events,Sandra Abma tells stories with compassion, curiosity and a sense of fun. A veteran television and radio reporter she focuses on the people and personalities that drive change in our community.
Ashley is a reporter for CBC News Ottawa and CBC Radio One. She has been up before dawn for live breaking-news hits for radio, and regularly reports for television. Her interests include kite-surfing, snowboarding and parasailing.
Omar is a video journalist for CBC News Ottawa and CBC Radio One. His interests include paragliding, rock climbing and martial arts. A native of Ottawa, Omar has travelled to 22 countries. As a child, he back-packed through parts of South America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe with his family.
Steve is a reporter-turned-videojournalist whose nose for a good story has taken him from one end of the country to the other.
One of the first video journalists with CBC Television, Simon specializes in consumer affairs and investigative journalism.
Cory specializes in getting the background details from city hall and delivering stories about local politics. He also enjoys bringing his unique take in showcasing some of the more unusual characters around town.
Waub joined the CBC Ottawa news team in the fall of 2010 from CBC Winnipeg. Waub has a reputation for his skills as an effective story teller. His list of credits include working on an emmy-nominated CBC/PBS co-production comparing the Canadian and American health care systems. He also produced two episodes of the CBC Radio One summer series ReVision Quest.
Tiffany is also a new reporter at CBC Ottawa. She has been a key addition to the team since local news expanded its supper and late night programs in the fall of 2009.
