CBC Ottawa newscast wins Gemini
CBC Ottawa's supper-hour news program won a Gemini for the best local newscast in a small market at the 25th annual Gemini Awards in Toronto Tuesday night. The program's executive producer, Paula Waddell, was in Toronto to receive the award. Lynn Douris is senior producer of CBC News at 5, 5:30 and 6. "We have a lot of really experienced journalists here at CBC Ottawa. So this is a team win, because everyone's hard work is being recognized with this award." Read more

Lucy van Oldenbarneveld is co-host of CBC News Ottawa at 5, 5:30 & 6. Lucy’s work with CBC has taken her almost literally from one side of the country to the other. Before coming to Ottawa, Lucy was the host/reporter of the afternoon radio show at CBC Whitehorse. Lucy has reported on a number of significant Canadian events, including the 2002 G8 summit in Kananaskis. Lucy is involved with providing journalism training in different parts of Africa - most recently in Abuja, Nigeria.

Adrian Harewood
Adrian Harewood is co-host of CBC News Ottawa at 5, 5:30 & 6 and host of CBC News Ottawa Late Night at 10:55 p.m. Adrian made the leap from radio to television in the fall of 2009 after three years of hosting Ottawa’s number one drive-home show, All in a Day on CBC Radio One (91.5 FM). Adrian has a keen interest in community involvement and getting to better know the city where he grew up.
