About the Show

The Brass

Catherine Leger
(Julie Khaner)

Catherine Leger is the co-founder of Leger and Pratt, a Toronto-based public relations company with offices across the country and international ties. Catherine 'transitioned' from TV news and current affairs two decades ago. In that time, she has relentlessly built L and P's client base: it is now one of Canada's top PR firms. But it hasn't been an easy ride.

Julie Khaner is well-known to Canadian audiences for her role as Alana Rabinovitch for eight seasons on Street Legal. Among her other series credits, series leads in The Newsroom and Deepwater Black.

The Team

Serena Jordan
(Georgina Reilly)

New to L and P, 25 year-old Serena Jordan was hand-picked by Catherine Leger from a start-up Liberty Village PR company. Brainy and energetic, Serena graduated with top honours from Carleton J-school. Faced with both a bleak job market for reporters and big student debts, she opted instead for the first paying job that came along, in PR.

Georgina Reilly's most recent credits include a starring role in the Bruce MacDonald thriller Pontypool, as well as guest leads on Flashpoint and Republic of Doyle.

Ricardo Sandoval
(Elias Toufexis)

A former political fixer for an ambitious Liberal cabinet minister, Sandoval really had had enough of the 'vow of poverty' you have to take for a life in politics, especially once in opposition. Ricky is the 'front door' guy of the crisis unit: smooth, self-assured and tough as nails. Not afraid to throw the first punch. Not afraid to proposition a cute stranger in a bar, which leads frequently to his getting his face dented by a miffed significant other. Can sweet talk his way into practically any venue.

Elias Toufexis has been seen most recently in Smallville (recurring) and the CTV/CBS series The Listener (recurring). He also voices lead roles in the Deus Ex Human Revolution, Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell video games.

Ben Lederman
(Matt Austin Sadowski)

The word guy, his unique gift is creating pithy talking points to match and sell the narrative, a process that invariably turns him inside out. A former advertising copywriter, he has always hated how everyone pays attention to visuals and not to the words that define them. Funny and self-deprecating, alternately hyperactive and depressed, he never gets the girl: when sizing Ben up, they also pay attention to the visuals first. At this point in his lonely life, Ben would settle for a female best friend without benefits. Needless to say, Serena rocks his world.

Matt Austin Sadowski's credits include Dawn of the Dead, guest leads on Aaron Stone and Desperate Housewives. He is an award-winning independent filmmaker.

Marshall Whitman
(Thomas Michael)

The PR genius. Head of the Special Projects unit. Triple type A. Cold, calculating, he lives and breathes 'the narrative.' He has also has an instinctive sense of the clothes L and G clients need to 'wear to a crisis,' leading to widespread speculation about actually what goes on in his deeply shielded private life. He is profoundly ill-at-ease in real interpersonal communication. Whitman is shooting for senior partner, and prepared to do whatever he needs to get there. If anyone is going to cross an ethical line, it'll likely be Marshall in his quest for the top.

Thomas Michael is an actor, writer and director, skills displayed in three Canadian theatrical features that he has also produced.

The Media

Parvinder Singh-Donnelly
(Keon Mohajeri)

General assignment reporter at The Post, the sinking print arm of a vertically integrated (and also sinking) media conglomerate, Parvinder is fast becoming 'the guy on the other end of the line' with the people at L and P. Originally full of journalistic fire, he's now assigned 'eye on entertainment' stories: club openings, fashion shows, walk of fame unveilings'...kind of a bargain Ben Mulroney.

Keon Mohajeri's most recent work includes the lead in the feature film Circumstance, voted Audience Favorite at the 2011 Sundance Festival. He was co-lead of the Showcase series Bloodletting.
