Thanks to everyone who made our day such a success!

Our day of special programming raised over 8,500 pounds of food and more than $299,500.00 - and still counting - in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Images of our programs are now online in a musical slideshow. Turn up your speakers and enjoy.

Throughout the day, Divine Brown, Molly Johnson, the Barenaked Ladies, Jackie Richardson, Daniela Nardi, and cast members of the Sound of Music filled the building with joyful sounds.

Singer Sarah Slean, comedian Ali Rizvi and Zaib Shaikh of Little Mosque on the Prairie dropped by to celebrate.

From morning to night, the CBC Broadcasting Centre was a place to hear fabulous music, meet your favourite CBC Radio One (99.1 FM), Radio 2 (94.1 FM) and CBC TV personalities, bid in a silent auction and experience the warmth of knowing your donations help to feed our city.

More details are available from our Schedule of Events.

Lots of ways you can still give

Although our event is over, we will continue to welcome your food donations in our lobby and your cash donations online.

Silent Auction Items

Kevin Sylvester offered a limited-edition lino cut print. Kevin doubled his previous record, selling 300 linocut prints, raising $30,000!

Jill Dempsey auctioned off a night out for four to see The Sound of Music - raising $1,200. Visitors were also able to bid on paintings donated by a number of Toronto artists.

Jim Curran created a new stained glass window that was auctioned off for $1,000. Thanks to Fantasy in Glass in Etobicoke for supplying some material.

Jane Hawtin offered a maple "Mission" wall mirror that was hand-finshed by Amish craftsmen from Holmes County, Ohio, which went to a new home for $185.

And last but not least, sportscaster Scott Regehr put together a package for sports fans to enjoy indoors and out. It included an autographed photo of hockey legends Guy Lafleur, Jean Beliveau and Maurice "Rocket" Richard, as well as two tickets to see Toronto FC, and two of Scott's own guidebooks to hiking and biking with the kids. Some lucky bidder won it for $625.

Our best year ever - thanks to you

Last year, CBC Toronto raised $140,000 and 7,000 pounds of food. Nearly one million people in the GTA relied on food banks in 2007-08. With the dramatic economic downturn, the demand is likely to increase this holiday season.

Although our event is over, we will continue to welcome your food donations in our lobby and your cash donations online until the end of December.
