When Ackee meets Codfish book launch

Garvia Bailey, host of Big City Small World on CBC Radio One 99.1 FM hosted the official Toronto launch of Jamaicans in Canada - When Ackee meets Codfish is a special 50th anniversary publication that celebrates Jamaican-Canadians and their achievements and contributions to Canada over the past 50 years.

The coffee table book, published with support from McMaster University Library, includes profiles of 250 Jamaican-Canadians from across Canada with representation from almost every province. Read profiles of CBC's Dwight Drummond, Nick Davis and others!

As well, the book features a collection of articles designed to inform and engage readers, and a list of the many Jamaican-Canadian organizations across the country.

The book was first introduced at the 50th anniversary national launch hosted by Her Excellency, Sheila Sealy Monteith, Jamaica's High Commissioner to Canada, on March 22, 2012 in Ottawa.
