A Unique Concert
Andrew CraigCBC Radio 2 held the 1st Annual CBC Calypso Tent at Toronto’s Glenn Gould Studio on Wednesday, July 30th. The concert is now available online.
Calypso Monarchs “Structure”, “Guney”, “King Cosmos”, “Skippy”, “Beginner”, “Macomer Fifi”, “Lady Pearl”, “Pan Man Pat”, “Crooner” and “Jayson” lit up the stage.
They kept the audience laughing and dancing all night long to their Calypso tunes, fiesty lyrics, and hilarious improvised song battles called ‘extempo’.
Live Parade Broadcast
CBC TV broadcast the Caribana Parade on Saturday August 2nd at 1:00 pm, live across Ontario with CBC hosts, Christine Birak and Andrew Craig plus Garvia Bailey reporting live from the parade route.
