TD Kids Book Club (Taping)

CBC Radio's Mary Wiens interviews children's author, Alma Fullerton ("Burn"), along with members of the Chalkfarm Reading Circle. Students in grades 5-7, with their facilitator, Jelani Nias (Jwyze), will ask questions and share their experiences reading the book. The taping will also include questions from the audience. From the Field: The Challenges of Foreign Reporting (Taping)

CBC journalists Anna-Maria Tremonti, Adrienne Arsenault, Peter Armstong and cameraman Mike Heenan discuss the difficulties of reporting in war zones and foreign countries where language, culture and geography make storytelling doubly difficult. The taping will include questions from the audience. The conversation will be moderated by Carole MacNeil, host of CBC News Now.

Kids' CBC Live on Stage + Live music with Njacko Backo

Calling all preschoolers! Come see Kids' CBC starring hosts Sid and Captain Claw. This show features singing and dancing and games guaranteed to get you up and moving - especially when special guest Bo on the Go arrives! This is followed by an interactive performance by Cameroon-born musician/entertainer Njacko Backo. He will teach a group of volunteer children to play various African percussive instruments and then lead them in a performance.

Hosted by CBC Radio's Brent Bambury, this quiz will pit two teams of CBC hosts (Radio vs. TV) in a battle of CBC trivia. Members of the audience will be asked to help. Test your knowledge with audio & video clips, photos and theme music from past programs.

Founded by award-winning percussionist Rick Shadrach Lazar, Samba Squad features members of all ages and backgrounds. Based on the philosophy, "one heart, one mind, one groove", this "percussion posse" will lead the audience in high energy rhythms and global grooves.

Making Sense of One (Book launch + doc filming)

CBC News Toronto hosts, Anne-Marie Mediwake and Dwight Drummond, host a segment featuring youths profiled in a new book and CBC TV documentary called, "Making Sense of One". They are members of a drop-in program at St. Stephen's House in Toronto. The book is a collection of essays, poems and drawings depicting their experiences growing up in bi-racial families. This segment will feature a short "trailer reel" from the documentary, followed by an interview with Mo-D, executive producer, and spoken word performances by a few of the youths.

Kids' CBC Stage Show + Live Music with Njacko Backo

Kids' CBC host, Sid, is joined once again by Captain Claw, and mascot Bo on the Go for an engaging and interactive stage show for children (half hour). This will be followed by a musical performance by musician Njacko Backo and his band. (Lyrics in French, English and Bamilike.)

Meet a few of CBC's iconic personalities including Betty Kennedy (Front Page Challenge), "Canada's Country Gentleman", Tommy Hunter, and former As It Happens co-host, Mary Lou Finlay.

Host Nicole Appleton will be on-stage in the atrium to introduce you to one of the top finalists in the competition - GO7. Band members are Toronto's own Joseph Neale, David "Dmajor" Neale and Charles "CN3" Neale, cousins of the late Hayden Neale of Jacksoul.
