We Are Pan Am: One Year Countdown

Nathan Phillips Square is the place to be July 11 and 12 with an exciting program of live music and dance, including headline acts Walk Off The Earth, Los Van Van and Machel Montano and athlete appearances by Toronto Raptors star Greivis Vasquez and Olympic gold medallists Simon Whitfield and Rosie MacLennan (among many others!).

And there's more fun activities the whole family can enjoy -- all for free! A detailed schedule is coming soon but here is a taste of what's in store:

Friday, July 11
WE ARE PAN AM: One-Year Countdown events kick off at 11:45 am. Try out a variety of Pan Am and Parapan Am sports, from basketball and soccer to wheelchair rugby and sitting volleyball. Play a game of human foosball, meet star athletes and be the first to see the Cisco TORONTO 2015 Countdown Clock unveiled!

Starting at 5:30 pm, learn to salsa dance with Los Salsomanos and the Salsa on St. Clair dancers and watch a live Art Battle presented by CIBC where YOU get to pick the winner.

The celebrations continue into the evening with free concerts, including the Juno Award-winning Innu singer-songwriter Florent Vollant at 8 pm followed by DJ Bandit with host Jay Martin and multi-platinum and award-winning band Walk Off The Earth at 10 pm, all part of PANAMANIA, presented by CIBC.

Saturday, July 12
Join us again on Saturday starting at 2 pm with more sport activities the whole family can enjoy -- meet more world-class athletes, plus PACHI, the official TORONTO 2015 mascot.

And when dancing takes over the mainstage, you can learn some fancy footwork from the pros of Baila Boogaloo Dance Company and take in performances by Full Throttle - An Urban Choreographer's Series.

The pulsing energy continues into the evening with performances by Quebec artists Les Chercheurs d'or, DJ Alejo with Diana Feliz, legendary Cuban superstars Los Van Van, Dr. Jay de Socaprince and comedian Jean Paul, and it all culminates in a high-octane show by international soca superstar Machel Montano direct from Trinidad and Tobago.

The celebrations are capped off with a spectacular fireworks display at 10:45 pm -- a sight not to be missed!
