Since the departure of the
Montreal Expos in 2004, there has only been one city where Canadians can watch professional baseball: Toronto. However, it was made public this week that a group of like-minded business people in Alberta have made an official bid to
Major League Baseball to secure a professional baseball franchise in Calgary and they want to call them the
Calgary Blue Jays. Earlier today Pat Kelly spoke with the organizer of the group, Mr. Doug Malloy, to find out why.
We want to know what you think:
Does Canada need another baseball team and should they both be called the Blue Jays? Post your thoughts in the comments below or tweet to
@CBCThisIsThat with the hashtag
#CalgaryBlueJays.
If you are a designer and would like to submit a logo for the team you can do so over on our
Facebook fan page.
NOTE: We'll be doing a live taping of This Is That tonight in the future home of the Blue Jays (Calgary) at The University Theatre. For more details
