Boy Pageants Come to Canada

Pink_Boy_MAN GENT.jpgThis spring fathers and sons flocked to a boutique hotel in Toronto's hip west-end to take part in a new kind of tradition that is really taking hold in cities across Canada. Now in its third year, The Little Man Gent Pageant is a pageant for urban boys between the ages of 7 & 14. It's a weekend long event that celebrates art, fashion, design, and what it means to be a Canadian male in the 21st century.

Host Peter Oldring took our documentary crew behind the scenes of this year's festivities and even had the chance to speak with celebrity judge Jian Ghomeshi.

Special thanks to Cedar and Steven Pratt for introducing us to this unique contest. We want to know what you think, what city should The Little Man Gent Pagaent come to next?

Make sure to tune into a BRAND NEW episode of This Is That tonight (Thursday) @ 7:30pm and again on Saturday @ 11:00am on CBC Radio One.
