Season 2: 2011 Highlights
EPISODE 27:
As 2011 comes to a close we thought we'd look back on some of the news stories that defined Season 2 of This Is That. Host Pat Kelly revisits his interview with Dr. Henry Poole, the man who discovered the iceberg that sunk the Titanic. Host Peter Oldring plays his interview with famous Canadian impersonator Donny Schmitts. We give an encore spin to our documentary on the Ontario hunting craze, 'hunt & release'. Plus, we feature Peter Oldring's summer documentary about one man's daily commute on the 401 Highway on his bicycle.

World's first off-leash cat park to open in Vancouver
It is quite common in most urban public parks these days to have a designated area for dogs. These areas allow owners and their furry companions to have the freedom they may not feel in other urban spaces. Well, according to a group of cat owners in Vancouver's west-end it's high time the cat world gained this same privilege. In conjunction with the West End Public Space Alliance, Vancouver cat owners are hoping to open the world's first off-leash cat park. Host Peter Oldring sat down with two members of WEPSA, to learn more about the proposed, West End Off-Leash Cat Park.

Canada backs out of World Wide Web to create Canadian Internet
There is a new idea gaining buzz with Canadian: techies, web developers, and cultural advocates called the 'Canadian Internet'. Similar to how the CRTC has imposed Can-Con regulations on television and radio, the Association of Canadian Content wants to see some of those regulations find their way online. In fact, they are proposing to 'geo-block' up to 95% of web pages foreign to the country of Canada. They are putting forward their proposal next week in Ottawa. Host Pat Kelly had the chance to speak with representative Spencer Willis to learn more about this idea.
We want to know what you think: Is the internet threatening Canada's cultural identity? Let us know by call our talkback line 1-877-563-2442 or 1-877-JOE-CHIC. You can also post your thoughts on a 'Canadian Internet' to our Facebook fan page.
