Gore Vidal once said, "Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn." And for 86 years, he lived by his own words. His acute, sometimes caustic skills as a writer fascinated readers for decades. He died at his home of complications from pneumonia this week.
over a year ago, Michael interviewed Gore Vidal onstage at the Blue
Metropolis literary festival in Montreal. He was very frail at the
time. Public appearances and interviews were rare, especially since the
death of his life companion, Howard Austin.
