NOEL PREMIERE - CANADA'S FIRST CAROL

A Christmas treat  on The Story From Here.  The Christmas carol repertoire has just been expanded with what may well be the oldest known carols written in this country.
The authors...Ursuline nuns in Quebec who wrote the carols  back in the 1600's.  Today you will hear those 300 year old carols and the story about how they were found,  arranged and then performed at a Christmas concert in Vancouver.

To hear the full concert recorded at CBC in Vancouver tune in on Christmas Day to Radio 2 at 3:00 PM ET.  The carols are performed by Musica Intima with Natalie Mackie on the viola da gamba.
