Jeff Gilhooly

Morning Show host Jeff Gilhooly is a graduate of both Trent University and the University of Western Ontario Graduate School of Journalism. His broadcasting career started in 1974 in private radio and TV with CFPL Broadcasting in London, Ontario where he became News Director. He also taught broadcast journalism at Fanshaw College and at Western's School of Native Journalism.

In 1986 Jeff left the private sector to work with Radio Canada International and became the Program Director of the Canadian Forces Radio and TV network in Lahr, Germany. He served for four years providing English language programming to the men and women of the Canadian Forces as well as covering numerous military stories and the eventual collapse of the Berlin Wall.

In 1990 he returned to Canada to host "On The Go" - CBC Radio's afternoon program in Newfoundland and Labrador. Jeff has hosted the St. John's Morning Show since January 2003.

Among his volunteer activities Jeff has recently joined the Board of Directors of the Senior's Resource Centre.
