About the Hosts
Anthony Germain graduated from both McGill University and the University of Western Ontario Graduate School of Journalism. Before arriving in St. John’s, Anthony was the CBC’s foreign correspondent in China where he worked in both Shanghai and Beijing between 2006 and 2011. He started his career with CBC in Halifax in 1991 and moved on to news and current affairs positions in Moncton, Saint John and Quebec City. Anthony hosted both the local morning show in Ottawa as well as CBC Radio’s political flagship show The House. He has hosted and co-hosted CBC Radio’s Federal Election coverage and he has won prestigious journalism awards for his work abroad in China and various war zones. He has also won investigative awards for uncovering tax fraud in Canada. Anthony says his “townie” wife, Doris, —and their children— keep him in line.
