Targa Newfoundland

Two accidents at the Targa Newfoundland road race last year led some communities to consider withdrawing permission for the event to return. For instance, Clarenville voted by a narrow margin to let it continue and Burin - which had refused permission for a few years - voted to allow the rally though this time around. Fortune mayor Charles Penwell and Marystown councillor Leonard Pittman talk with John Furlong about their safety concerns with the Targa rally… and whether their respective towns will participate this year.

NL softball in Colombia

They’re some of the top softball players in the world… and they’re still working regular nine to five jobs. Local stars Ryan Boland, Blair Ezekiel and Jason Hill are three of four players from this province who will represent Canada at the Pan American Softball Championships in Colombia.
