Mile One Stadium and beer cans

Last week we heard Danny Breen, the city’s representative on the board of Mile One Stadium, about complaints following the Tom Petty concert. People were upset with the long lineups for beer. Councillor Breen pointed to beer having to be served in plastic cups as being one of the main issues - that if beer could be served in the cans, the service would be much quicker. John Furlong talks with Steve Winter, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation, for an explanation on why can beer isn’t sold in cans during events at Mile One.

Youth hunting workshop

The event, put on by the province’s Wildlife Division, is a rare chance for young people to fire shotguns and rifles for the first time with professional supervision. The CBC’s Beth Macdonell traded in her microphone for a gun and hit the range to check it out.
