Contest Rules and Regulations
NHL SECRET PLAYER CONTEST from June 8 to June 19, 2009 PARTICIPATION EXTENDED TO JUNE 24TH, 2009 TO ENTER To enter the NHL Secret Star Contest, you must call in to the St John's Morning Show Morning Line (709) 576-5259 or toll free at 1-866-576-5259 and tell us why you think your team should play with an NHL Player. To be valid, all entries must be received by Friday, June 19th at 12 noon NT* and must include your name, address, telephone numbers and age. *WITH RESPECT TO THE EXTENTION OF THE PARTICIPATION PERIOD, ALL ENTRIES MUST NOW BE RECEIVED BEFORE JUNE 24TH, 2009, AT 12 NOON. NT. No purchase required. ELIGIBILITY Contest is open to all Newfoundland and Labrador adults who are 19 years of age or older at the time of entering the contest. Employees of CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, and their affiliates, as well as their immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof are not eligible to enter this contest. PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZES On Friday, June 19th, 2009 a preliminary random draw will be held for 20 entries. On Monday, June 22nd, 2009 a representative of Blizzard Sports & Entertainment will select the winning entry from among those drawn at random. The judge's selection criteria includes quality of language and originality. CONSIDERING THE EXTENTION OF THE PARTICIPATION PERIOD, THE DRAW WILL BE HELD ON JUNE 24TH, 2009, AND THE FINAL SELECTION WILL ALSO BE ON JUNE 24TH, 2009. Winner will be contacted by telephone on Monday, June 22, 2009 (CONSIDERING THE EXTENTION OF THE PARTICIPATION PERIOD, WINNER WILL BE CONTACTED ON JUNE 24TH 2009) and should claim their prize as instructed by CBC by no later than 2 days (CONSIDERING THE EXTENTION OF THE PARTICIPATION PERIOD, WINNER MUST CLAIM THEIR PRIZE NO LATER THAN ONE(1) DAY) after the date they were initially contacted. If the prize is not claimed within this period or if winner cannot be reached by the CBC on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 (CONSIDERING THE EXTENTION OF THE PARTICIPATION PERIOD, THE DEADLINE WILL BE ON MONDAY JUNE 25TH 2009), a new draw will be held. Should a female team win the prize they agree to register as a co-ed team. DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE(S) The winner will receive:

The winner must be available to travel on the dates mentioned in the prize description. If the winner is unable to travel on the designated dates, the prize will be forfeited without compensation and a new draw may be held. GENERAL RULES 5.1 To be declared a winner, the contestant must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question. 5.2 The winner, as well as the people accompanying him/her, or his/her parents or guardians if the people accompanying him/her are minors, shall agree, if necessary, to have their name and/or picture, including their photograph, and/or their voices used for advertising purposes related to this contest, free of charge. 5.3 The winner shall sign a document attesting to his/her eligibility as stipulated in paragraph 2 of these rules and releasing CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, from all liability for any damage or loss arising from participation in this contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize. Anyone accompanying the winner in connection with the prize shall sign a document releasing CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, from all liability for any damage or loss arising from use of the prize. 5.4 The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged for an amount of money, nor sold nor transferred. No substitutions will be allowed. 5.5 If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, reserve the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value. 5.6 Refusal to accept the prize releases CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, of any obligation toward the winner. 5.7 Should winners make any false statement, they shall be automatically disqualified from the contest. 5.8 CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to software or computer equipment, fraudulent calls or any other mistake. 5.9 CBC, Blizzard Sports & Entertainment, their affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to hold this contest 5.10 All personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and age is collected solely for the purposes of administering this contest and shall not be used for any other purpose without your consent. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated purposes. 5.11 By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules, which shall be applied by the CBC.
