Sept 11-15: A Familiar Ring, a Ring spoof by Bill Richardson

Hilda Cooper is a Wagner widow. Her husband, Dick, is a devoted Ringophile. Every year, he drags them off to yet another production, somewhere in the world, of the great epic. This fall, however, Hilda has other plans. To find out how her scheme to divert Dick takes a bizarre and Wagnerian turn, listen to A Familiar Ring.

The show airs on Sounds Like Canada (Radio One) & Music and Company (Radio Two)

Cast:

Beverley Sauve, Ellen Kennedy and Patti Allan (Rhine Maidens/Valkyrie) are The Swing Sisters, a swing/jazz girl group that performs in and around Vancouver.

Allan Morgan (Dick) most recently performed the role of Roy Cohn in the Hoarse Muse (Vancouver) production of Angels in America.

Deborah Williams (Hilda) is a writer/performer well known for her creation of Mum’s the Word. She will also appear in the new Radio One comedy show The Debators which airs starting Saturday Sept. 9, 2006 at 6:30 pm and is repeated on Monday evenings at 7:30 pm.

Patrick Gallagher (Giant/Host) is familiar to Canadian TV viewers for his role of Detective Joe Finn in Da Vinci’s Inquest and Da Vinci’s City Hall.

Brian Jensen (Giants/The Dragon) Despite his eclectic film and television career, Brian seems to delight in playing wacky characters like Dragons as much as the more serious roles for which he is generally cast!

Billy Mitchell (Everyone Else) - As you can see, an expert at changing his look (and voice).
