Fafner and Fasolt are giants
who build Valhalla for Wotan in
exchange for Freia, a goddess
who provides the gods with
golden apples to ensure their
eternal youth and power. When
Wotan tries to back out of the
deal, the giants abduct Freia.
The gods in Valhalla begin to
age immediately.
