Kevin Peterson, a.k.a. Kevin from Canada, runs one of the most comprehensive, engaging book blogs in the country. It's a one-stop shop for book-lovers: you can read thoughtful reviews of all the hottest books and engage in what can amount to an online book club through the comments sections.
Every fall, Kevin and his guest reviewers tackle all the longlisted books for the Man Booker Prize and the Scotiabank Giller Prize. This year, for the 17th time, Kevin's "Shadow Giller" jury is making its own prediction of which book will win the coveted CanLit prize.
Shelagh recently visited Kevin Peterson at the worldwide headquarters of Kevin from Canada (his home in Calgary) and they got into a nitty gritty conversation about this year's Booker and Giller longlists and shortlists. Kevin speculates on the rationales and decisions of the juries and offers his own uncensored take on the nominated books.
Warning: this is most definitely an 'inside baseball' conversation. Book titles and author names are tossed around like knuckle curves and sliders. If you're into that sort of thing, you'll devour this special podcast.
