About this Report

The CBC's Terence McKenna tells the story of Anwar al-Awlaki, the Yemeni-American cleric once considered to be the greatest terrorist threat to the United States. Originally aired July 10, 2011.

Born and raised in the U.S., Anwar al-Alwaki was once profiled on American television as a moderate Muslim. Then he became one of a handful of al-Qaeda figures rising to fill the void left by the death of Osama Bin Laden. Terence McKenna tells the story of Anwar al-Awlaki, once considered the greatest terrorist threat to the United States.

Awlaki was killed in Yemen by a joint CIA-U.S. military air strike on Friday, September 30, 2011.
