About this Report

David Suzuki, host of The Nature of Things, and Environment Minister Jim Prentice get together to face off on the environment, in the environment.

It's an issue close to the hearts of Canadians - how to protect and preserve our natural environment. But though it's a shared goal, there's plenty of debate on how best to accomplish it.

Two men at the centre of the debate, world-renowned environmentalist David Suzuki, and the Conservative Minister of the Environment, Jim Prentice, got together to get out in the wilderness, get their hands dirty, and find out if they could agree on a road map to our environmental future.

They met off the coast of British Columbia on the legendary archipelago called the Haida Gwaii, on the occasion of the inauguration of the very first national marine conservation area, the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site.

With Evan Solomon, host of Power & Politics, as our guide, Prentice and Suzuki's adventure by air, land, and sea into this mystical part of our country proved to be a unique and insightful experiment in politics, television, and camping.
