About this Report

The National returns to Haiti to chart the progress of rebuilding six months after the devastating earthquake.

In just a matter of seconds on January 12, 2010, a massive earthquake reduced much of the nation of Haiti to rubble, with over 200,000 lives lost and even more injured. Within days, a massive relief effort began to provide emergency medical care, food, water, and housing to the over one million Haitians left homeless.

Now, six months later, The National returns to Haiti to check the progress of rebuilding a shattered country, and so many shattered lives.

Read Saša Petricic's entry in The National blog "A long journey out of danger", about his experiences travelling to the God's Littlest Angels orphanage in Port-au-Prince to shoot his video "The Children of Haiti", which is featured on this webpage.
