Whatever happened to...

Rosanna von Sacken - on Roger's broken promise of "free" texting

"I'd like to thank CBC and your help in bringing this story to the public quickly - you did a great job. It generated lots of public and media attention, and very most certainly struck a nerve. Someone from the President's Office of Rogers called. They will credit me for all back charges for text received and they will honour the free incoming text received per the signed service agreement.

I can only hope that there is enough negative exposure and public outcry that Rogers and other wireless providers will re-think how they conduct business and treat their customers."

Nadia Oujvenko - on the B and E artist who (almost) got away with it

"Finally, they caught the guy. If you wouldn't bring this story to the public this guy would be still doing what he was doing for many, many years. I know that for us there is no chance that we could get our stuff back but at least less people will go through what we went through.

Thank you again Kathy and Enza!!!"

Tim Hill - on Saul Pressman and his bogus cancer cure machine

"With the exposure the CBC Go Public interview achieved through the media and over the Internet, my prayers have been answered. In a perfect world guys like Pressman would never exist, however through the concerted efforts of the rest of us, we can achieve restitution and most definitely have direct influence the over the future actions of these types of individuals.

My daughter and I have been working directly with the Competition Bureau doing telephone interviews and corresponding on e-mail. Just like your interest in our story, they too have picked up on this and are in the beginnings of launching an investigation."

Shelagh Bruhn - on Two Small Men and her damaged furniture

"I have have spoken with Stu (from Two Small Men with Big Hearts Moving Co.) and he agreed to send me a cheque for the settlement amount. He also apologized. Thanks to you, I may at last be able to lay this whole unpleasant experience to rest, feeling somewhat victorious!"

Taras Diduck - on contractor Dwayne Peleshaty's unfinished work

"I cannot thank you enough for the story you brought tonight along with the written story on the web. Judging from the viewers' comments on the website, this is a topic that hits home with many British Columbians caught in the same bureaucratic web as we were. Already I have received supporting phone calls including one from someone who put out the same warning about Dwayne Peleshaty to the Homeowner's Protection. Already Dwayne has been removed from the Victoria Fairfield Rise condo complex project so this is a step in the right direction. Thanks to Kathy for the great investigative reporting you have done. I have so much respect and appreciation for your work that I cannot describe it in words."

Tosh Suzuki - on Home Depot charging tax on exempt items

"Thank you for doing the story on Home Depot. Without your help, I would not have been able to generate the action and responses (as such) from Home Depot and the Ministry of Finance. I now look forward to Home Depot doing the right thing if affected consumers are unable to produce receipts where PST was improperly charged."

Dieter Geesing - on access to his daughter and his unenforceable court order

"Thank you so much for this excellent story you made. I do like the story very much: it is factual, but not cold; it is touching, but not cheesy. Wonderful! Beside the responses that the story received in the blog, I also received many emails. All the messages and encouragement I received are overwhelming and confirms that what you did, what we did is the right thing. Thank you again!!"

Tim Allix - on the huge archeologist's bill for digging on his property

"We did get a lot of support from the community after Go Public aired the story, and we had a number of other reporters come by and do their own version of the story. It came out in the Victoria Paper and the local Parksville paper. We both appreciate the coverage that you gave us, it certainly raised the awareness of this issue."

Marjorie Buchanan - on her fight with RBC to forgive her debt after being defrauded

"It was good in that more people will be aware of this nasty fraud - thanks to you. RCB continues to send me monthly statements for $10,000 plus a modest accruing interest. They have absorbed that compounding VISA interest, as they said they would. Thank you again."

Rita McDonnell - on her father's neglect in hospital that led to bedsores

"I would love to tell you some of the things that has happened after the show, one being the documentary which will be happening next year I will be the only Canadian story that I'm aware of. There are other issues too, people that saw the show contacted me to tell me about their loved ones being neglected, too. Very interesting stories, and I'm still in contact with them."
