Laid-off B.C. hospital workers losing up to half of settlement money

Told to pay back millions received from EI after job losses

As many as 8,000 former B.C. hospital workers who lost their jobs to privatization are losing a big chunk of the $85-million settlement they won in court.

The workers have just been told to pay the federal government back for employment insurance they collected when they were laid off.

"I owe $5,730," former hospital cleaner Lisa Langfield said. "I don't have a full-time job. What am I supposed to do?"

SThere are also the workiers who took a hit of $3.00 an hour off there paychecks that affected everything like superannuation etc. when do we get back our loses The H.E.U was the only union that let it happen all the others fought back
