Vermin attracted by 'green' composting practices
A B.C. janitor is speaking out about an infestation of rats at the Delta Hospital, which he believes was caused by a new "green" program to compost kitchen waste.
Brian Britten said he first tried to report his concerns to hospital administrators before and after rats appeared last year, but said he was told by his employer, a private contractor, to keep quiet.
"They didn't appreciate anybody telling them about the potential of rats, and then finally when rats did show up, it was like well, there they are," said Britten.
