Crisis in Haiti: Connecting with Canadians

The extent of the damage and the loss of human life and injury to those in Haiti following yesterday's earthquake is not yet fully known.  We here at The National and at CBC News want to bring you the full story of the impact of this crisis.

Right now, our CBC News reporters, producers, and camera operators are on their way, or readying to leave from bureaus in Washington, New York, Ottawa and Toronto, flying to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, then making their way by land or air to Port-au-Prince.  The team includes reporters David Common, Susan Ormiston, and Paul Hunter, and producers Angela Naus and Sylvia Thomson.  Our videojournalist, Sasa Petricic, is hoping to follow a Canadian aid group making its way to Haiti to assist the people affected by the disaster.

If you have any information that you'd like to provide us to help us, including contacts of Canadians in Haiti who could help us tell the story of this disaster and the relief effort, or if you're looking to connect with someone you know in Haiti, please get in touch by posting the information to this page.

Thank you.
