When Martha Blum (née Guttmann) passed away at the age of 94, musicians placed a white poinsettia on her chair in the concert hall in Saskatoon. Such was the loss and admiration felt for a woman who brought her energy and passion for the arts to her adopted homeland. As a young Jewish woman in fascist Europe during World War II, she had seen the worst injustice that humankind can inflict, and facing down death, she lived to fill every day with art, culture, beauty and hope.
This documentary on Martha Blum was created by Amy Jo Ehman.
