Sat Apr 03 - Golf & King Charles 4.22

Spring has sprung and with it the promise of birdies and eagles. Yes, this week we're debating Golf, as duffer Derek Edwards takes a whack at convincing scratch golfer Dave Hemstad that, any way you slice it, golf is a ridiculous pastime. Next up on our double bill of laughs and logic, funnyman Arthur Simeon wants to royally trounce Elvira [el-VEER-ah] Kurt as he tries to convince our Oakville Ontario audience that Queen Elizabeth should give up the throne and make Charles our king. As always The Debaters presents the elite Clown Princes (and Princesses) of Canadian comedy. They hereby decree you should tune in Saturday at 1:00 PM on Radio One.

Wed Mar 31 Time Machines & Gym Class

Our first topic this week is physical education - as fit and funny Kristeen von Hagen uses her comedy muscles to prove to comic Debra DiGiovanni that gym class is the best class. Next we talk time-travel as philosophically funny John Ki tries to convince forward and backward looking comedian Mark Forward that a time machine would be a terrible invention. If you have a time machine we urge you to set it for Saturday at 1:00 PM so you can be the first to catch the timeless comedy of The Debaters on CBC Radio One.

Sat Mar 27 - Sushi & Cruise Ships 4.21

Ahoy there, Canada! Is the cruise ship a good way to holiday? This week enthusiastic cruiser Darcy Michael tries to convince funny lady Diana Frances that a holiday on the high seas will really float her boat. Next up, Japanese food fan Tetsuro Shigematsu serves up the funny as he tries to persuade squeamish eater Ian Boothby that even though it's cold -- sushi is hot! Yes, there is an ocean theme on the Debaters this week so don't be a "ship disturber" -- just tune in. The Debaters airs Saturday at 1:00 PM on Radio One.
