Wed Sep 9 Sexy Newfoundlanders

Surveys have identified Newfoundland and Labrador as the most sexually active province. We’re in St. John’s this week as local celeb, Cathy Jones (This Hour has Twenty-Two Minutes) tries to convince fellow “townie” Jonny Harris that the stats don’t lie -- Newfoundlanders are just plain sexy! Also on our double bill of facts and funny, comedienne and former car flogger, Carrie Gaetz is out to prove to Detroit detractor Chuck Byrn that we should pity the plight of the poor car salesperson. As usualThe Debaters get plenty of comedy mileage from a couple of fully-loaded topics. Catch all the action this Wednesday at 11:30 am.

Sat Sep 5 The Art of Letter Writing

Wait a minute Mr. Postman, have emails made you a little redundant? This week, nostalgic comedy veteran Derek Edwards is out to convince upstart Pat Thornton that old fashioned letter writing still beats emails hands down. Next up on our double bill of fact and funny, musical duo, The Doo Wops, make a melodic argument to prove to funny gal, Laurie Elliott, that ex lovers can still be friends. The Debaters is sending out its message of laughs and logic and as usual it hits all the right notes. Tune in Saturday at 11:30 am on Radio One.

Wed Sep 2 Blogging

Is blogging just a waste of cyberspace? This week Edmonton comic Andrew Grose is all a-twitter as he tries to convince Toronto funnyman, Harry Doupe, that blogs like his own are worth the read. Next up on our potpourri of laughs and logic, Vancouver comedians Darcy Michael and Morgan Brayton take on the topic of gays in the media and whether the portrayal of homosexuals in mainstream film and TV has furthered the purple cause. Yes, this week’s show will feature plenty of the “L” word. Laughs, that is. Wednesday at 11:30 am on CBC Radio One.
