Oh, Canada!

For Canada Day The Debaters asks the question: Are Goose and Beaver as powerful as Eagle and Uncle Sam? The Debaters is in Ottawa this week as American ex-pat, DeAnne Smith, tries to prove to comic Pete Zedlacher that Canada’s symbols beat the American ones by a country kilometre.
Next up, Toronto funnyman Dan Redican is on a mission to convince freedom of speech advocate Darren Frost that our society could use a little more censorship.
As usual The Debaters delivers completely uncensored radio comedy. And if you have a problem with that, well, you can just “shut the front door.” That’s The Debaters this Wednesday at 11:30 on CBC Radio One.

Sex on the Rock

Surveys have identified Newfoundland and Labrador as the most sexually active province. We're in St. John's this week as local celeb, Cathy Jones (This Hour has 22 Minutes) tries to convince fellow "townie" Jonny Harris that the stats don't lie -- Newfoundlanders are just plain sexy!
Also on our double bill of facts and funny, comedienne and former car flogger, Carrie Gaetz is out to prove to Detroit detractor Chuck Byrn that we should pity the plight of the poor car salesperson.
As usual The Debaters get plenty of comedy mileage from a couple of fully-loaded topics. Catch all the action Saturday at 11:30- am and Monday at 8:30 pm on Radio One.

Fisticuffs and Young Offenders

Are fistfights a reasonable way to solve a dispute? This week pugnacious pugilist Rob Pue lets loose a volley of verbal punches as he tries to make Bruce Clarke admit that real men answer the bell. Also on this week’s funny fight card, Canadian comedy legend Mike Bullard is out to prove to Irwin “The Professor” Barker that Young Offenders Legislation is misguided and that all teens should be tried as adults. As usual The Debaters presents a knockout combination of funny and facts. Make sure you’re ringside for all the action, Saturday at 11:30 am and Monday at 8:30 pm on Radio One.
