Up, Up and Away!

This past summer saw the release of several blockbuster movies including Hell Boy, Batman - The Dark Knight and Iron Man. This week on The Debaters comic book super-fans Ian Boothby and David Pryde engage in an epic battle over whether comic book superheroes make good role models.
Next up on our double bill of laughs and logic, funny man Charlie Demers and That Canadian Guy Glen Foster exchange verbal blows over whether nuclear energy is an essential part of Canada's energy diet.
Faster than a speeding expletive! More powerful than a punchline! It's The Debaters!!
On CBC Radio One at 11:30 am Saturdays with an encore broadcast at 8:30 pm Mondays.

Baby Boomers and Body Builders - The Debaters Salutes the letter B

There’s no debating that the world is an economic and ecological mess. But, are baby boomers to blame? This week bombastic boomers Bob Robertson and Linda Cullen of “Double Exposure” fame, debate this post war generation and whether their hippie/yippie/yuppie ways were a boon to society or a bust. Next up on our double bill of topics that begin with the letter “b”, bodybuilding is deconstructed as weightlifter Aaron Berg tries to prove to weakling Charlie Demers [duh-MARES] that the price you pay for washboard abs and buns of steel is just too high. For belly laughs that are guaranteed to smooth and tone those flabby love handles, tune in to the Debaters Saturday at 11:30 am and Monday at 8:30 pm on Radio One.

Wait a Minute Mr. Postman

This week, nostalgic comedy veteran Derek Edwards is out to convince upstart Pat Thornton that old fashioned letter writing still beats emails hands down. Next up on our double bill of fact and funny, musical duo, The Doo Wops, make a melodic argument to prove to funny gal, Laurie Elliott, that ex lovers can still be friends. The Debaters is sending out its message of laughs and logic and as usual it hits all the right notes. Tune in Saturday at 11:30 am and Monday at 8:30 pm on Radio One.
