It's in the bag

Christmas shopping season is in full swing and kids across the country are doing their best to improve the economy by pestering their parents to buy all manner of toys and crap. And who is to blame for this annoying behaviour?
Advertisers of course!
This week, funny gal Jennifer Robertson does her best to sell writer/comedian George Westerholm on the notion that marketing to children is just plain wrong.
Next up on our shopping-themed double bill, comic Steve Levine and “That Canadian Guy “Glen Foster go toe to toe on the topic of the plastic bag and whether this environmental scourge is the worst invention of all time. Shopping has got a lot more complicated so why not take a break from stimulating the economy to tune into The Debaters, Saturday at 11:30 am and Monday at 8:30 pm on Radio One.

A Canadian Fall Classic

It’s Grey Cup weekend and Canadians across the country will be cheering our unique game of three downs and that extra point for a missed field goal.
But is our quirky version of pro ball any better than the NFL?
This week New York comic Darryl Lenox is out to trounce funny guy Tim Steeves and prove to our Regina audience that the NFL beats the CFL every time.
Next up on our comedy double bill, veteran comic Mike MacDonald battles newcomer Nick Beaton on the topic of restaurants and whether the chain and franchise operations are superior to the mom and pop eateries.
As always, The Debaters dishes up a tantalizing mix of funny and fact. Gather round the radio and dig in. Saturday at 11:30 am and Monday at 8:30 pm on Radio One.

Half man half gorilla comedian Mel Silverback (aka Dan Licoppe) wants to convince cagey comedian Bruce Clark that zoos should be outlawed. Yes, our theme this week is "man versus nature!" But, let's face it, man is superior. Especially the man that thought it would be good to put a guy in a gorilla suit on the radio.
