Heads in Beds: Jacob Tomsky
We started this segment with a clip from the Pink Panther.
Inspector Clouseau was a third-rate detective, but a first-rate jerk when it came to abusing hotel staff. As some Canadians head off on winter holidays they may wish to avoid the mistakes Peter Sellers made as he tried to find a bed for the night.
A new book by a veteran of the hospitality industry offers some helpful tips for the hotel guest. Jacob Tomsky started as a valet at a luxury hotel in New Orleans and worked his way up the ranks of the business. His new book is Heads in Beds: A reckless memoir of hotels, hustles and so-called hospitality. It reveals the highs and lows of working in hospitality and offers practical -- and brutally honest -- advice to optimize your hotel stay. Jacob Tomsky joined us from New York.
