Part Two of The Current
Nov 19th - Live Show Special
This is The Current's 10th season on air and we're celebrating with a special broadcast before a studio audience on Monday, November 19 from Toronto's Glenn Gould Studio.
Maher Arar and comedian and mental health activist Mary Walsh will also join us on stage to talk about their own journeys and how The Current helped bring their stories to Canadians. And to cap it all off, Anna Maria will sit down with Fifth Estate co-host and Giller prize winner Linden Macintyre for a special interview with Linden asking the questions and me in the hot seat!
If you're in the Toronto area, we'd love to see you then. If you are interested, email email@example.com before tickets run out.
And if you can't make it in person, that's OK, you can tune in as always or join us online where the entire show will be live-streamed at cbc.ca/TheCurrent.
Again, to register for free tickets for our show next monday morning, email firstname.lastname@example.org. And we'll keep updating our website with details this week.
Trail Blazer Journalist Zubeida Mustafa
Zubeida Mustafa spent her journalistic career uncovering stories and issues many Pakistani journalists wouldn't touch. She was a pioneer, starting out as the only woman in her newsroom at Dawn - Pakistan's major English-language daily newspaper.
Over three decades she rose through the ranks to become assistant editor. Zubeida Mustafa retired four years ago but she continues to write a weekly column and runs a website on current events in Pakistan.
Last month, the International Women in Media Foundation gave her a lifetime achievement award. Judy Woodruffe of PBS presented the prize.
Zubeida Mustafa is visiting Toronto from Karachi, and joined us in our studio.
