Graham James Case: Greg Gilhooly
In a Winnipeg courtroom this morning, a judge sentenced a man whose crimes have darkened hockey rinks for decades. Former junior hockey coach Graham James has already served about two years in prison for the abuse - years ago - of three young players, including the NHL's Sheldon Kennedy.
In December, James pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of retired NHL star Theo Fleury and his cousin Todd Holt. Those are the crimes he is being sentenced for today. Both Fleury and Holt have entered victim impact statements to the court detailing the upheaval in their lives because of Graham James.
And Greg Gilhooly alleges there's at least one more victim -- himself. He was in court when Fleury and Holt read their statements. And he says he knows just how harrowing the crimes are. Because he says the horror never, ever, goes away.
Greg Gilhooly is back in court again today. We talked to him about his ordeal before the sentence was handed down earlier this morning. He was in our Winnipeg studio.
