Attacking Iran Scenarios: Sam Gardiner

We started this segment with a clip from John Bolton, the former U-S Ambassador to the United Nations. He has Iran in his cross hairs, and so do many others. Earlier this week, the International Atomic Energy Agency issued its most damning report yet about Iran's nuclear ambitions. It concludes Iran has tried -- and may still be trying -- to develop nuclear weapons.

But calling for military strikes against Iran means calling for a very different kind of assault. And the consequences are hard to imagine. Sam Gardiner has spent a lot of time trying to imagine them. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel who has taught strategy at the U.S. National War College. Among other things, he specializes in war games exercises. and he has been running exercises on exactly this subject.

Sam Gardiner has agreed to run through a couple of scenarios with us this morning. He was in Zagreb, Croatia.
