Part Two of The Current (Updated)
The Battle for Tripoli - Sufyan Manghur
We started this segment with the sound of Libyans cheering as the end of Moammar Gaddafi's rule is imminent. But it's not over just yet. Battles are raging in Libya's capital, Tripoli between forces loyal to Gaddafi and Libyan rebels.
Sufyan Manghur joined us from Ottawa. He is a Libyan-Canadian businessman and liaison officer of the Libyan TNC or Transitional National Council. He represented the rebel forces when Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird met with them in Ben Ghazi last month.

Last Word - Layton
We began the program with the news that Jack Layton has lost his battle with cancer. The leader of the NDP and the Official Opposition died this morning. He was 61.
Mr. Layton's life culminated in the remarkable rise of the NDP. From perpetual third or fourth place party, the NDP now stand firmly in second place in the House of Commons. It is a credit to Mr. Layton's style and personal appeal.
We ended the program with a small taste of some of what Jack Layton showed to voters and supporters over his many years in politics.
