Part Two of The Current

The Urban Hunter (Documentary)

Hunting is a way of life in many parts of Canada ... though thanks to increasing urbanization, the number of people who hunt is on the decline. There is, however, a surprising micro-trend happening that offers hope for a renewal. And it originates in the cities. In New York City, beginning hunting courses are being offered for locavore hunters ... foodies who are into eating locally and who see hunting as an extension of that.

In Edmonton, the University of Alberta is offering a course called The Philosophy of Hunting. And in Vancouver, urban hunters are changing what's being served on some city supper tables. Jen Moss is a freelance producer in Vancouver. Here's her documentary, The Urban Hunter. It first aired on The Current in December.
