Part Three of The Current

Raising Elijah - Sandra Steingraber

Sandra Steingraber comes at her work on the environment from a number of different perspectives. She's a biologist. She wrote a book about surviving cancer and learning to see the disease through the lens of the environment around us. And now, she is coming to terms with the environment as a motherhood issue or rather a direct challenge to what she sees as some of the most basic responsibilities of a parent.

Sandra Steingraber's new book is Raising Elijah: Protecting Our Children in an Age of Environmental Crisis. She was in Ithaca, New York. Her previous book is Living Downstream: An Ecologist's Personal Investigation of Cancer and Environment.
