Horoscope Horrors

Astrological signs have been around for almost 3,000 years, but according to astronomers, there's a problem -- the signs are wrong.

PART TWO

Scientist

As of Thursday we are - by conventional astrological measurements - under the sun sign of Aquarius. These astrological signs have been around for almost 3,000 years. But according to astronomers, there's a problem - the signs are wrong and this is actually the dawning of the sign of Capricorn.

According to their argument, this also means that your sign isn't what you thought it was - that you're really a Taurus instead of a Gemini or a Capricorn instead of an Aquarius. The argument is back in the news, thanks to an American astronomer who touched off a heated debate when he made the case that the Zodiac is wrong. So to help understand why you might not be the sign you thought you were, we're joined first by Frank Florian. He's the Science Director at the Telus World of Science in Edmonton.

Some thoughts from Toronto about the news that astronomers are challenging the conventional Zodiac signs. Thanks to The Current's Jennifer Moroz for posing the questions.

Sue Thomson says there's no reason to change the current star signs ... and that the astronomers' case just doesn't hold up. Sue Thomson has been promoting astrology for much of her life. She's working on her diploma in Astrology from the Canadian Association for Astrological Education. She was with Linden in Toronto.
