Cat-Bird War

There are about a hundred million cats roaming free across North America. Collectively, they kill about a billion birds a year. And now a lot of humans are picking sides and drawing lines in the sand.

PART THREE

Cat-Bird War

All over North America, lines are being drawn between cat people and bird people. Here in Canada, cats are the most popular pet around. But they are also the most disposable. There are now about 100 million cats roaming the North American landscape. And they're good hunters. They kill an estimated 1 Billion birds every year.

And the carnage is prompting well-meaning humans to choose sides in a very bitter fight. Maureen Palmer has captured the battle in her new documentary. It's called Cat Crazed. It will air tomorrow night on The Doc Zone on CBC Television. Maureen Palmer was in Vancouver.
