ABOUT ERNEST: Ernest Fitch is the oldest of seven children. His father was killed in the First World War when he was 13. Ernest went to work and landed a job at the Royal Bank but found another calling as an officer with the Salvation Army. He worked in cities across Canada, including Estevan, Saskatchewan at the height of the Great Depression. Today, Ernest Fitch is the Salvation Army's longest serving officer.
