A stamp commemorating Chief Tecumseh was released by Canada Post today.
One of Windsor's major roads is named after him... and just a few kilometres away,
a town carries his name. I'm talking about Tecumseh...named after
Chief Tecumseh....the man who allied with the
British in the War of 1812. Stamps commemorating Chief Tecumseh and British General Isaac Brock were released by Canada Post today. Tecumseh and Brock
fought alongside each other during the War of 1812 and were said to be good friends.
For a look at Tecumseh's role in the War, we've reached James Jenkins. He's the
research advisor for the Walpole Island First Nation. He also sits on the First Nation War
of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration Committee.
James Jenkins joins me on the line.
