A crew of dedicated volunteers is keeping the Spirit Of Windsor Locomotive looking good.
On Windsor's waterfront there sits a fine example of the steam locomotives of the past.
Locomotive number 5588 or the Spirit of Windsor was retired from service in 1961.
It was then saved from the scrap yard and put on it's pedastel on the waterfront in 1965.
Over the years and thru all kinds of weather you can imagine the deterioration that can occur but thanks to a group of volunteers from the Windsor Chapter of the Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society, the Spirit of Windsor is being maintained and repaired.
A group of those volunteers were on site today, making some repairs to the engineers cabin.
