A veteran of the Canadian music scene comes to the Mary Webb Centre in Highgate this Saturday night.
My next guest had his first hit before he had even entered a recording studio.
That was Child's Song - recorded by Tom Rush. But soon after that Murray McLauchlan came into his own with the release of Songs From the Street in 1971.And over the following decades he scored big hits with Farmer's Song, Down by the Henry Moore, On the Boulevard, Whispering Rain.He didn't do too poorly in the awards department either.
11 Juno Awards - 24 nominations and an Order Of Canada. His latest album is titled Human Writes. This Saturday Murray McLauchlan performs at the Mary Webb Centre in Highgate.Showtime is 8 o'clock. This afternoon Murray McLauchlan joins me from our Toronto studios.
