Should we stop giving grades to kids?

School boards in Camrose, Alberta, and Ridge Meadows, British Columbia, have decided to stop giving percentage grades to their students. Some experts say assigning a number grade can actually de-motivate students, meaning they do just enough to pass, but not to learn.The decision has been given a fail by some parents and teachers, and gold stars from others.
