Stupid criminal... is breaking into a house

There's harmless Facebook addiction, then there's stupid Facebook addiction. A criminal who broke into a Pennsylvania West Virginia home and was caught because he stopped to check his Facebook account, and forgot to log out, is a shining example of the latter.
Jonathan Parker, 19, of Fort Loudoun, Pa., was arraigned this week on one felony count of daytime burglary. If convicted, he faces one to ten years in prison. The victim told police that she returned home to find signs that her home had been burglarized, and that two diamond rings worth a total of $3,500 U.S. were missing. The figurative smoking gun was found when they turned on the computer, only to find the burglar still logged on.
The incident is the latest in a long list of dumb Facebook gaffs, although few have been so brash as to involve criminal acts. There was the fellow in Australia who got busted by his employer after bragging about faking a sick day on the social networking site: "Kyle Doyle is not going to work, f*ck it i'm still trashed. SICKIE WOO!"
Then, in a real case of the pot calling the kettle black, there were the employees of European electronics retailer DSGi, who were caught calling customers "stupid" on a Facebook group. And, closer to home, who can ever forget the Bell Canada PR person referring to journalists as "lemmings" in his status update.
